My name is Connor Tedstrom. I played high school hockey in Colorado for 4 years, and during my senior year, I decided I wanted to pursue playing junior hockey and Division I college hockey. This is the story of going from Colorado High School Hockey to junior hockey from my perspective: my thoughts, experiences, and lessons learned along the way.
About the Blog
I like to write. I've always sort of had a knack for writing, and I really like to do it. When all of this first started to happen for me, my dad suggested that I start writing a blog to keep people updated about what I'm doing and to just stay up on my writing. Plus, it's a really cool story, if I must say so myself. I kind of shrugged the idea off at the start. I didn't like the thought of people reading into my thoughts and emotions. I thought I would feel violated in a way. I experimented with making a blog after a few months of prodding from my parents, but I made it pretty private at the start. I chose not to let it come up in Internet searches and only gave the address to people I thought would really like reading about what I'm doing. I didn't post much to it because I was kind of embarrassed about it to be honest. Now, I've started to really like the blog, though. It's grown on me since I started it up back in May 2010. It's a way for me to talk to myself, encourage myself, and stay focused on my goals. Also, it lets other people follow me as I chase my dream and share what they think about what I'm doing. And it will definitely help me remember everything I'm going through much better. Looking back, I'm really glad I started writing about this whole experience, and it's been awesome to hear about people who are following me following my hockey dream.
